About the race
A Better World Running stages the Independence Day event in Belmont Shore, Long Beach on July 4, 2027. The event offers multiple distance options along Ocean Boulevard at Belmont Shore, with chip timing and a finisher medal featuring a fireworks design.
The course runs on the beach path and consists of marked out-and-back loops. The route is described as flat and scenic along Ocean Boulevard. The course is open to the public; participants should expect pedestrians, other runners, and cyclists on the path. An aid station at the turnaround/start-finish supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and GU gels.
Distances:
- 5K out-and-back
- 10K two 5K loops
- 15K three 5K loops
- Half Marathon three 4.36-mile loops
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free race videos, live results at finish, and free photos searchable by bib. Age group awards are available for pickup only at the race and will not be mailed. Additional services listed by the organizer include cinematic race highlight reels, achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking, an Ascend Crew feature, and a free A Better World Running app. There is a 3 hour 15 minute time limit for the half marathon; early start or transfers are available by request and the event has a no refund policy. Race day registration accepts card, cash, Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Parking is free in residential areas; the beach lot uses paid parking and the Passport Parking app zone 9372.
