Happy Mother's Day 5K, 10K, 15K and Half Marathon in Long Beach
A Better World Running stages multiple-distance races along the Belmont Shore beach path on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach. The course is flat and scenic, organized as marked out-and-back loops on the beach path. The event uses chip timing and provides live results at finish.
Distances offered:
- 5K out and back
- 10K two 5K loops
- 15K three 5K loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops
There is an aid station at the turnaround near the start/finish providing water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and energy gels. Registration includes a custom finisher medal, drawstring goodie bag, free photos tied to bibs, free videos and cinematic highlight reels, and age group awards that must be picked up at the race. The event also offers trophies, achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking, and a free A Better World Running app for race tracking.
The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit; alternate arrangements may be made with the organizer. The course is open to the public, so participants should be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.
