About the race
The Summer Sensation in Long Beach is a multi-distance road race held on August 15, 2026, on the Long Beach Shoreline Path at 5400 E Ocean Blvd in Belmont Shores. The course uses the beach path and is run on an open course; participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, other runners, and cyclists.
Distances offered:
- 5k out-and-back on the beach path
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops
The turnaround at the start/finish serves as an aid station supplying water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Course loops are marked and a course map is provided by the organizer.
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, drawstring goodie bag, free videos, live results at finish, and free photos linked to bib numbers. Additional race services listed by the organizer include cinematic race highlight reels, trophies and achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking, the Ascend Crew feature for following friends, and a free event app. Snacks and sample items are available on site.
