Labor Day 5K/10K/15K
The Labor Day 5K/10K/15K is a multi-distance running event held in Kennesaw, Georgia. The race is dedicated to recognizing First Responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and medical professionals. This event takes place on Labor Day and serves as a gathering for the local community and those wishing to show support for emergency personnel.
Participants can choose between several race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
The courses are out-and-back routes located in the parking lot of the AMC Theatres in Kennesaw. The terrain is described as fairly flat and fast. For participants who cannot attend the physical location, virtual options are available for all three distances. On-site timing is provided for the start and finish of the live races.
Self-serve water stations are positioned along the course approximately every 1.5 miles. All participants must maintain a minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile. Every athlete who finishes their race receives a custom finisher medal. Awards are also distributed to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various age groups and master categories. Registered participants who sign up before the specified deadlines are guaranteed a commemorative race shirt.
As a specific token of appreciation, First Responders are eligible for a free race entry with the presentation of a valid ID at bib pickup. The event is held rain or shine, except in cases of extreme weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
