2026 Labor Day 5k & 10k
This event takes place on September 7 at Fairland Recreational Park in Burtonsville, MD (3928 Greencastle Rd.). It is a loop course that mixes trail and pavement and includes some hills. The 10 km uses two laps of the 5 km route. Points earned count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.

Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are placed at approximately mile markers 1.55 on the 5k and at 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65 on the 10k; Gatorade will be available at some stations. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before August 26; additional shirts are distributed first-come first-served. Early registration fees are listed for each distance with increases after August 15 and an additional increase on race morning.
The race benefits Lovepaws, an organization focused on keeping pets in homes and out of shelters through community outreach. Live results are posted on Athlinks with final results and series points published on the Monday after the event. Parking is available at the park; the site also posts weather, volunteer, awards, photo, packet pickup, runner tracking, and banditing policies.
