About the race
La Course is an annual community run and walk organized by the French American School of Rhode Island (FASRI) on October 4, 2026 at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island. The event takes place at 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI 02907, and includes separate distance options for adults and children.
Event distances and fees:
- 5K Run/Walk: 3.1 miles, registration fee $35.
- Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk: 1 mile, intended for children up to 13, registration fee $16.
Registration opens on July 1, 2026 and closes on October 4, 2026. The kids 1 mile is offered in two entrant categories: one for the child participant and a separate adult entrant category for parents or guardians who run alongside their child. Parents or guardians who run alongside should register in the Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk (ADULT ENTRANT) category so organizers can track participants and manage safety. Participants who wish to take part in both the kids 1 mile as an accompanying adult and the 5K should register for both events to ensure they are recorded for each distance.
