Point to Pinnacle
Point to Pinnacle is an annual road running and walking event held in Hobart, Tasmania, on the third Sunday in November (next date listed as 15 November 2026). The event offers two main distances and follows sealed roads from the Wrest Point area into the foothills and higher slopes of Mount Wellington.
- 21.1 km Point to Pinnacle: road course to Mount Wellington, 1,271 m elevation
- 10 km Point to Pub: road course to Fern Tree Tavern, 426 m climb
Both courses start at Wrest Point Car Park and proceed via Sandy Bay Road, Byron Street and Davey Street, with Davey Street becoming Huon Road. The Point to Pinnacle continues onto Pillinger Drive to the mountain pinnacle; an alternative course may be used if the summit is not reachable on the day. There are intermediate checkpoints on the route, drink stations, and a shuttle bus service from the Fern Tree Tavern for return transport. Gear buses transport spare bags from near the start to the finish locations.
All finishers within the event time limits receive a finishers medal and a digital certificate. Prize money is offered for top placings in both events, with Point to Pinnacle prizes listed up to the fifth place and a race record bonus. A Corporate Cup is awarded using the combined fastest four finish times per registered corporate team. Fundraising options are available through the event platform and the event lists charity partners and sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
