About the race
Point to Pinnacle is a road running event in Hobart, Tasmania, featuring two main courses from Wrest Point with significant climb to Mount Wellington.
Distances:
- 21.1 km Point to Pinnacle : climbs 1,271 m in elevation and finishes at the pinnacle of Mount Wellington. The course follows Sandy Bay Road, Byron Street, Davey Street (which becomes Huon Road), then Pillinger Drive to the summit. A contingency alternative course is described in the event booklet.
- 10 km Point to Pub : finishes at the Fern Tree Tavern and climbs 426 m in elevation, following the same start streets and Huon Road.
Entries have limits: 3,200 for the 21.1 km and 1,600 for the 10 km, with a range of entry categories including competitive teams, corporate, recreational/social and club teams. Team and individual awards include equal prizemoney for male and female winners, prizes for top places, Masters/Over 50 awards, and race record bonuses when courses finish at the declared endpoints. All finishers within time limits receive a finishers medal and digital certificate.
Event services include shuttle buses from the Fern Tree Tavern, spectator buses to the Pinnacle and Fern Tree, gear buses for spare bags, drink stations along the course, same-day professional photography, and a free 12-week training program provided by a local training provider.
