Point to Pinnacle
Point to Pinnacle is an annual road running and walking event held in Hobart, Tasmania. The 2026 edition takes place on 15 November and offers two main course options that start at Wrest Point car park and climb into the Mount Wellington area.
- 21.1 km Point to Pinnacle uphill to Mount Wellington, 1,271 m climb.
- 10 km Point to Pub to Fern Tree Tavern, 426 m climb.
The full course to the Pinnacle follows Sandy Bay Road, Byron Street and Davey Street which becomes Huon Road before turning onto Pillinger Drive to the summit. Both courses have marked drink stations and published course maps and contingency information. Entry limits are published for each event and there are specific team categories including competitive four person teams, corporate teams, club teams and recreational teams. The Point to Pub includes a pram category and youth pricing for under 18s.
All finishers within official time limits receive a finishers medal and a digital certificate. Additional awards include prize money for top finishers, a masters over 50 category and a bonus for race records. Transport arrangements include buses to return participants from the finish back to Wrest Point and gear buses to move spare clothing. Fundraising through partner platforms such as Grassrootz and Movember is an established part of the event and the event reports multi year fundraising totals.
