Event overview
The Elders Point to Pinnacle takes place in Hobart, Tasmania on 16 November 2025 and marks the event's 30th anniversary. The event includes a road half marathon that finishes on Mount Wellington (Kunanyi) and a shorter run to Fern Tree Tavern. Both courses start at Wrest Point in Sandy Bay and follow Sandy Bay Road into Davey/Huon Road before climbing toward the mountain. An alternative course may be used if the summit cannot be reached on the day.
Race details, categories and prizes
- 21.1 km Point to Pinnacle : 1,271 m elevation.
- 10 km Point to Pub : 426 m elevation.
Entry limits and fees are published for each race; standard and late entry prices apply. Refunds are available under specified conditions. Walkers must be at least 12 years old and runners at least 14 years old; there is no age restriction for the Point to Pub but children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Team categories include competitive four-person teams, corporate teams (Corporate Cup scored by the combined fastest four finishers), recreational/social teams and club teams.
All finishers within the time limits receive a finisher medal and a digital certificate. Prize money is offered equally for men and women in each race, with additional bonuses for race records and a sub-2 hour cap awarded to Point to Pinnacle runners who reach the summit under two hours (this cap is only awarded if the event reaches the Pinnacle).
