KROP - Kaizen Rite of Passage
KROP returns to Welling Ridge Trails near Tahlequah, Oklahoma as a multi-distance trail event built on a common 4-mile loop. All race distances follow the same loop and pass the start and finish area each lap. The loop is single-track, rock-covered and root-twisted, and requires focus; it yields approximately 400 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop.
Distances offered include:
- 4 Miler: one 4-mile loop, about 400 feet elevation.
- 8 Miler: two loops, about 800 feet elevation.
- 25k (16 miles): three loops, about 1600 feet elevation.
- 50k (32 miles): eight loops, about 3200 feet elevation.
- 65k (40 miles): ten loops, about 4000 feet elevation.
A Ruck Relay teams event runs concurrently. Teams register per person, up to four people per team, and may compete with fewer. One teammate carries a 20 lb weighted ruck at a time and partners may switch; teams are scored by completed full loops within the timed period.
Finishers who complete a single 4-mile loop receive a finisher award. 50k and 65k finishers receive a KROP belt buckle. Top three finishers in each distance receive gold, silver, or bronze medal variants. Aid station provisions and food are available during the event. Registration includes a shirt; entries received by 8/28/26 are guaranteed a shirt. Additional donations at registration go 100 percent to the Tahlequah Trails Association for trail maintenance.
