Event Overview
The 9th Annual Krista-Marie Touch of Love Charity 5K is a community event held at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Organized by a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the event raises educational and therapy funds for children diagnosed with Autism and related disorders in honor of Autism Month. The race course follows a trail lined with tall trees.
Participants can choose from various race distances catering to different age groups:
- 5K run or walk
- 600 m for ages 8-9
- 400 m for ages 6-7 or 8-10
- 200 m for ages 4-5 or 6-7
- 100 m for ages 2-3 or 4-5
- 25 m for ages 3 and under
The event includes several categories and amenities. The first 500 participants to arrive at early packet pickup receive event shirts, while the first 500 finishers receive race medals. Awards are presented to the best overall male and female runners, alongside age group medals.
The Kids LOVE Dash is specifically designed for children ages 2 to 10. Children within this age range are automatically registered for both the 5K and the Kids Dash. The youth races are conducted in rolling starts by age category.
Additional event features include a costume contest, music, and refreshments provided by community sponsors. The venue is pet-friendly and onsite parking is available for a fee per vehicle.
