Event overview
The KRC Southeast Slosh is Ketchikan Running Club's second annual Trail Half Marathon on July 11, 2026, held at Ward Lake Nature Trailhead in Ketchikan, AK. Registration opens June 11, 2026. Entry fee is $50 plus processing; Ketchikan Running Club members pay $45. Individual runners and relay teams of up to four runners may register; each relay team decides its own exchange points. Bib pick-up is at the Ketchikan Rec Center on Friday, July 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. On-site registration at Ward Lake will be cash only. The event operates under a Special Use Permit from the Tongass National Forest Service.
Course and race logistics
The course starts and finishes at the Ward Lake shelters and uses nearby trails and roads, including Ward Lake Road, Ward Creek Trail, Last Chance Campground, Revilla Road, Connell Lake Road, Pipeline Trail, Salvage Trail, Perseverance Trail (out-and-back) and Ward Lake Trail in a clockwise direction. There are four aid stations along the route. Noted water and restroom locations include Grassy Point (restroom and water), Last Chance Campground (restroom), Connell Lake Road (water), a water station in the Salvage Trail parking lot, and water at the top of the Perseverance Trail. Participants are given a five-hour time limit to complete the course; after the cut-off, aid station support and finish-line services are not guaranteed.
