Ken Teune Memorial Stampede
The Ken Teune Memorial Stampede is scheduled for April 11, 2026 in Ketchikan, AK. The event is organized by the Ketchikan Running Club as its annual membership drive and memorial run. Two events are offered:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Both races start and finish at the Ketchikan Fire Department, 70 Bawden Street, Ketchikan.
Course, registration and other details
The 1 mile route follows the sidewalk on Spruce Mill Way to the dock, proceeds along the dock past Berth 1 to a marked turnaround near Berth 3, and returns to finish at the fire department. The 5K route goes through the Federal Building parking lot to Stedman Street, continues past Doyon’s Landing to a marked turnaround, then retraces the route and passes around the Federal Building before returning on Bawden Street to the finish.
The event page lists an online registration deadline of April 9, 2026 and notes in-person registration will be available the morning of the race at the fire department. Event entry fees on the page are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 mile. Ketchikan Running Club membership for 2026 provides free entry to this race; membership fee categories on the page include Student, Individual, Family, Military, and Military Family. Cones, signage, and volunteer monitoring are planned for crossings and turnarounds. Pets and strollers are strongly discouraged on the course.
