Course and awards
The course runs from the Ashmun Bay Boat Launch along the Ted Caffey Memorial Trail to South Street and back. The surface is 100% soft - gravel road and snowmobile trail - with views of Ashmun Bay, freighters, the power canal, the international bridge, and shoreline foliage. Age group awards are given for first place in these divisions: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Overall awards include Top Male, Top Female, Top Master (40+), and Top Grandmaster (60+).
Registration and race services
Online registration lists a base price and an optional race T-shirt available for an additional $15. Race-day bib and packet pickup is provided near the boat launch parking area, with an early packet pickup offered the previous Thursday evening at Birdseye Outfitters. Chip timing is used with transponders and a common start/finish timing mat. Post-race refreshments and on-site results are provided, and finish-line items include water, Gatorade, bananas, watermelon, bags of chips, and fruit snacks.
