Kokosing Alberici Traylor Engineers Day 5K
The event is a community 5-kilometer running and walking event held at Ashmun Bay Boat Launch in Ashmun Bay Park, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. The course follows the route from the boat launch to the Ted Caffey Memorial Trail, onto South Street, and returns to the launch. The surface is 100% soft underfoot, consisting of gravel road and snowmobile trail, with views of Ashmun Bay, freighters, the start of the power canal, the international bridge, and shoreline foliage.
Online registration opens on 2025-09-09 and closes on 2025-12-31; the listed base registration fee is $25. A T-shirt option is available during online registration for an additional $15. Race day registration is offered at a higher fee of $40; exact change cash or Venmo are accepted for on-site payment.
Packet pickup is available near the boat launch parking area on race day, and an early pickup is offered the evening before at Birdseye Outfitters. Chip timing is used with Race Result Duo transponders and a common start/finish timing mat; onsite and online results are provided by Yooper Running Company.
Awards are given to first place in age-group divisions (0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+) and to overall Top Male, Top Female, Top Master (40+), and Top Grandmaster (60+).
