Kokosing Alberici Traylor Engineers Day 5K
The Kokosing Alberici Traylor Engineers Day 5K is a running and walking event held in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. The event is part of the local Engineers Day Weekend.
The course is a 5K distance. It takes place on a 100% soft surface consisting of gravel road and snowmobile trail. The route goes from the Ashmun Bay Boat Launch to the Ted Caffey Memorial Trail to South Street and back. It offers views of Ashmun Bay, freighters, the power canal, the international bridge, and shoreline foliage.
Participants receive a medal and post-race refreshments. Age group awards are given for first place in categories from 0-9 to 80+. Overall awards are given for the top male, female, master's (40+), and grandmaster's (60+) finishers. Refreshments include water, Gatorade, bananas, watermelon, chips, and fruit snacks.
An optional event t-shirt is available for an extra fee during online registration. The race uses chip timing. An early packet pickup is available the day before the race, and race day pickup is also available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
