HOKA Kodiak Ultra Marathons by UTMB

HOKA Kodiak Ultra Marathons by UTMB is scheduled for 8–11 October 2026 in Big Bear Lake, California. The event is organized as a two day festival weekend with multiple race distances and village activities in downtown Big Bear Lake.

Races offered include:

  • 100M - 161.4 km, 4876 m+ elevation
  • 100K - 99 km, 3120 m+ elevation
  • 50K - 48.4 km, 1339 m+ elevation
  • 21K - 19.5 km, 575 m+ elevation
  • 10K - 10.5 km, 280 m+ elevation

Course routes run through varied terrain with views of Big Bear Lake, climbs such as Sugarloaf Mountain, and ridge sections like the Skyline trail. The event crosses three climate zones on course including high desert, sub alpine, and semi arid landscapes.

The festival includes a start and finish area in the town center, local food and drink vendors, a DJ, and a parade through town. In 2026 the event is a UTMB World Series Americas Major offering double Running Stones and automatic qualification spots for the 2027 UTMB World Series Finals. The race is also a dual qualifier for the Western States Endurance Run.

UTMB Community Bibs are part of the event charity program. A portion of community bib funds supports local trail stewardship and community organizations through the IRONMAN Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
