HOKA Kodiak Ultra Marathons by UTMB takes place in Big Bear Lake, California from 8 to 11 October 2026. The event is presented as a festival weekend with two days of racing across five distances. Courses run around Big Bear Lake and include mountain and ridge trails such as Sugarloaf Mountain and the Skyline trail.

- 10K, 10.5 KM, 280 M+
Races pass through varied landscapes and climates, including high desert, sub alpine, and semi-arid terrain. Many course sections offer sustained views of Big Bear Lake.
In 2026 the event is the UTMB World Series Americas Major. Runners earn double Running Stones at this Major. Each Major also grants automatic qualification slots for the UTMB World Series Finals; in total 210 runners receive automatic qualification for the 2027 Finals from each Major, including age-group winners and the top 10 men and women in the 100M, 100K, and 50K.
The festival center and the start/finish line are in downtown Big Bear Lake. Festival features include local food and drink vendors, a DJ, and a parade through town. The event supports local stewardship and community groups through UTMB Cares Bibs and has supported organizations such as Bear Valley Search & Rescue, San Gorgonio Search & Rescue, the Mountain Top Amateur Radio Association, the Southern California Mountains Foundation, and Big Bear Middle School and High School.
