Big Bear Spartan Weekend - May 16-17, 2026
The event takes place at Big Bear Mountain Resort - Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake, California. The course reaches about 8,200 feet above sea level and features descents of more than 1,200 feet. The weekend includes a Trifecta option to complete Sprint, Super, and Beast races in one weekend and can qualify participants for the 2026 Trifecta World Championship. The weekend also hosts a Spartan Trail Race and a U.S. National Series heat for age group and elite athletes. Course maps are subject to change depending on conditions.
Races, obstacles, and logistics
- Sprint: 5 km - 20 obstacles
- Super: 10 km - 25 obstacles
- Beast: 21 km - 30 obstacles
- Kids Race: 1-3 km - obstacles included
The races include many named obstacles such as Atlas Carry, A-frame Cargo, Barbed Wire Crawl, Fire Jump, Inverted Wall, Bucket Carry, Hercules Hoist, Multi-Rig, Rope Climb, Sandbag Carry, Slip Wall (rolling mud), Spear Throw, and various walls. Finishers receive event medals, a finisher tee, and a Trifecta medal wedge where applicable. The event lists festival elements like music and beer gardens, and notes bag check, parking, and processing are provided. Prices are stated to include all fees.
