Big Bear Lake Spartan Race : May 16-17, 2026
The event takes place at Big Bear Mountain Resort - Snow Summit, 880 Summit Blvd, Big Bear Lake, CA on May 16-17, 2026. It is organized as a Trifecta Weekend in the West National Series and also features a Spartan Trail Race. The venue reaches about 8,200 feet above sea level, with sustained climbs and descents of over 1,200 feet on the course. Bag check, parking, and processing are available, and listed prices include fees. Course maps are published but may change depending on conditions.
Race distances, obstacles, and finishers' items
- Sprint - 5 km, 20 obstacles
- Super - 10 km, 25 obstacles
- Beast - 21 km, 30 obstacles
- Kids Race - 1-3 km, with obstacles
The races include a range of Spartan obstacles such as Atlas Carry, A-Frame Cargo, Barbed Wire Crawl, Fire Jump, Inverted Wall, Bucket Carry, Hercules Hoist, Multi-Rig, Rope Climb, Sandbag Carry, Slip Wall, Spear Throw, and various walls, plus additional location-specific obstacles. Finishers receive a finisher medal and a finisher tee; completing Sprint, Super, and Beast in the same year earns a Trifecta medal and qualification opportunity for the 2026 Trifecta World Championship.
