Race overview
The Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run is a 30 mile foot race along the Baden-Powell Centennial Trail from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Deep Cove in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The route passes city, mountain and ocean scenery as it crosses the North Shore mountains.
The course includes significant elevation change, climbing about 8,000 feet and descending about 8,300 feet. It is aimed at runners with some experience in trail or endurance events. Running Wild magazine named the race among 25 toughest races in North America.
The event is produced by the Northshore Ultra Trailrunning Society, a non-profit society incorporated in British Columbia. The race began in 1989 as a group run of eight people and later expanded; the field is now determined by a random selection process with a limit of 262 runners. Since inception the race has raised $204,000 for various charities.
The event calendar also includes regular Wednesday and Sunday training runs and an active fundraising program and community activities in the lead up to race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
