Kiwanis Independence Day 5K - Charlottesville
The Kiwanis Independence Day 5K includes an in-person 5K Run/Walk held in Charlottesville and a Virtual 5K Run/Walk option. The in-person event is scheduled for July 4, 2026. The virtual option begins June 30, 2026 with registration available through July 5, 2026. Registration fees are listed in event details.
Packet pickup is available July 3 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Lakeside Middle School, and on race morning beginning at 6:30 AM at the same location.
Proceeds benefit local organizations including Camp Rappahannock, Central Little League, and Charlottesville Community Bikes. The event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville. Organizers report more than $150,000 raised for charity over the event's history.
The course, called the Lakeside Course, starts and finishes at Hollymead Elementary School. The route follows Powell Creek Drive and Shadybrook Trail, continues through Turnberry Circle and English Oaks Circle, then proceeds along Kendalwood Lane and Ashwood Boulevard before returning on Powell Creek Drive to the finish at Hollymead Elementary School.
