Kiwanis Independence Day 5K - Charlottesville
The Kiwanis Independence Day 5K is scheduled June 29 to July 4, 2027. The event includes an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville at Lakeside Middle School in Charlottesville, VA.
- 5K in-person Run/Walk, entry fee $35.
- 5K Virtual Run/Walk, entry fee $30.
Packet pickup is available July 3 at Lakeside Middle School and also on race morning at the event site. In-person registration opens April 16, 2027 and closes June 29, 2027. Virtual registration opens April 15, 2027 and closes July 4, 2027.
Proceeds support local organizations, including Salvation Army - Camp Rappahannock, Central Little League, and Charlottesville Community Bikes. The event has raised over $150,000 for charity over the past 42 years.
The advertised Lakeside course starts at Hollymead Elementary School, follows Powell Creek Drive and Shadybrook Trail, passes Turnberry Circle and English Oaks Circle, continues onto Kendalwood Lane and Ashwood Boulevard, and returns on Powell Creek Drive to finish at Hollymead Elementary School.
