Kirkcaldy Parks 5K 2026
Kirkcaldy Parks 5K is part of the Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival on 29 August 2026. The event is a new addition to the festival and takes place at Dunnikier Park, Kirkcaldy, with Race HQ and the start and finish inside the park.
The route is a 5K loop that leaves the park, passes through gently undulating woodland and follows tracks around the outside of the golf course before returning to the park. Surfaces include grass, tarmac, gravel, soft trail and field edge, so appropriate footwear should be considered.
The race is held under UK Athletics rules and has a Scottish Athletics permit. The minimum age on the day is 12. There is a one hour time limit for the course; participants expected to take longer will still receive a medal but an official time cannot be guaranteed after the limit.
The festival is organised by a non-profit group that aims for inclusivity, including measures to keep entry costs low with sponsor support. Entry details included a discounted and standard price tier and a total allocation of 100 places. Transfers to another person were permitted up to the closing date; refunds and deferrals were not available.
Event parking guidance asked attendees not to use the Council, Golf Club or Oswald House car parks and noted ample parking at the nearby NHS Overflow Car Park at Whytemans Brae. Public transport links are available nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
