Kinetic Triathlon Festival
The Kinetic Triathlon Festival is staged at Lake Anna State Park and features three race distances across a weekend: Long Course (Half), Olympic and Sprint. Races use a sandy beach swim start and rectangular swim courses with two turns and sighting buoys approximately every 75 meters. The swim sections are spectator friendly with elevated hillside and banked seating viewing.
- Long Course (Half): 1.2 mile swim, 57 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
- Olympic: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint: 750 meter swim, 15.5 mile bike, 5 km run
Course formats include one loop swims, multi-loop bike and run layouts that keep the run entirely inside the state park. The Long Course bike covers about 2000 feet of climbing over two loops; the Long Course run is three loops totaling roughly 800 feet of elevation gain. Aid stations serve water and electrolyte drink on the bike and are located roughly every mile on the Long Course run. Technical and sag support are provided on the bike routes.
The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned and offers race categories such as Overall, Masters, Age Group, Aquabike, Military, Clydesdale, Athena and Relay teams. Registrations are non-refundable and packet pickup requires photo identification. A double-entry option provides a 20 percent discount when registering for both weekend races.
