Kinetic Triathlon Festival
The Kinetic Triathlon Festival is a multi distance triathlon weekend staged at Lake Anna State Park. The event uses a sandy beach swim start, freshwater lake swims, rolling rural roads for the bike segments and run courses that remain inside the park. The swim courses are rectangular with two turns and sighting buoys approximately every 75 meters. Water temperatures at this venue are typically in the mid 60s to low 70s around event dates.
The courses are laid out as loops to improve spectator viewing; banked stadium style seating overlooks the swim, run course and finish area. The Long Course bike covers about 57 miles with roughly 2000 feet of climbing and aid stations on the bike. The Long Course run is three loops totaling 13.1 miles with aid stations approximately every mile. Bike and run pavement are described as good quality and the routes travel through farm country and pine plantations.
Event categories include Overall, Masters Overall, Age Group, Aquabike, Military, Clydesdale, Athena and Relay Teams. The festival is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Race registrations are non refundable and registered athletes receive race apparel, a finisher medal and post race food. Packet pickup requires photo identification and must be collected by the participant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
