Kilmington Kanter
The Kilmington Kanter is a multi-terrain running event based at the Kilmington Cricket Club in Devon. The event features a variety of surfaces, including road sections, woodland trails, and open fields. The course is undulating and includes two steep climbs through the local landscape.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 7 miles: Open to runners aged 17 and older.
- 4 km: Open to runners aged 11 and older.
- 1 km: A fun run for children aged 11 and under.
The 7 mile route begins with a circuit of the cricket field before transitioning to a steady road climb and the first woodland area. It continues along roads toward Umbourne and through fields. After crossing a railway bridge, the path ascends toward Shute and enters Shute Woods for the main climb. The final stretch consists of woodland trails and a road section leading back to the finish. The 4 km route follows the same initial path through the first woodland loop before returning to the start.
Race headquarters are located at the cricket ground and provide bag drop services, number collection, and toilet facilities. Parking is available at the Kilmington Village Hall. The event uses cupless water stations, located approximately 4 miles into the longer route. Refreshments, including a barbecue and a bar, are available on-site. No headphones or dogs are permitted during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
