Event Overview

The Kilmington Kanter is a multi-terrain running event with two distances: a 7 mile race and a shorter 4 km option. It takes place on Saturday, 25 April 2026, starting and finishing at Kilmington Cricket Club in Devon. The event is organized by Axe Valley Runners in association with Kilmington Cricket Club and is held under Association of Running Clubs (ARC) rules.

The Route

The main 7 mile course is described as scenic and undulating, with a couple of steep climbs. It uses a mix of road, woodland trails, and fields. Starting with a lap of the cricket field, the route follows a steady road climb into woodland. It continues on road towards Umbourne before entering fields, crossing a railway bridge, and climbing towards Shute and Shute Woods. The final section returns via road to the finish in Kilmington.

The 4 km route shares the same start as the main race, includes a woodland loop, and then returns to Kilmington. A separate 1 km fun run for children aged 11 and under is scheduled to take place on the cricket ground before the main events.
