Kick for Kenya 5K
Kick for Kenya is a community 5K run and walk held on May 23, 2026 in Boise, Idaho. The event is based at Eastwind Community Church, 4750 South Surprise Way, and uses an out-and-back route on the Surprise Valley bike path that starts and finishes in the church parking lot.
Proceeds fund community development planning and projects in rural southeastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids, the Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP), and local Kenyan partners. Funds are intended to support educational opportunities, public health improvements, and efforts to address food and water insecurity. Long-term plans described by the organizers include construction and development of a community center with office space for field staff, tutoring and counseling rooms, agricultural demonstration plots and animal husbandry space, housing for children or families in need, and space for visiting speakers and short-term visitors.
Entry fees vary by registration period. Early bird pricing is listed as $35 per entrant through April 15, increasing to $40 from April 16 and to $45 the week of the race. All but the first $10 of the entry fee is described as tax deductible. Additional donations are accepted and pre-registration is encouraged; race day registration is available.
Packet pickup is offered at the Eastwind Church lobby on Sunday, May 17 and at Fleet Feet Treasure Valley in Meridian on Friday, May 22, with day-of packet pickup in the church parking lot. Day-of parking is available across the street at Eagle Christian Church and the event parking lot will be closed during the race. Course marshals, an aid station near the turnaround, mile splits, and post-race food and awards are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
