Kick for Kenya 5K
The Kick for Kenya 5K takes place on Saturday, May 1, 2027, at Eastwind Community Church in Boise, Idaho (4750 South Surprise Way). The event is a single 5K out-and-back route that starts and finishes in the church parking lot and follows the Surprise Valley bike path to a turnaround near the intersection with Highway 21.
The course is an accurate out-and-back on a flat, scenic bike path. Course marshals will be stationed at intersections for traffic control. Mile splits and an aid station are provided near the turnaround. Post-race food, a party, and awards for top finishers are part of the event program.
Packet pickup is available before race day at two locations and times: Eastwind Community Church on Sunday, April 25, and Fleet Feet Treasure Valley in Meridian on Friday, April 30. Day-of packet pickup will be offered in the Eastwind Community Church parking lot on race morning. Parking is available across the street at Eagle Christian Church; the church parking lot will be closed in the morning to accommodate the start and finish.
Race proceeds will support projects in rural southeastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids, Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP), Gotani Community Development Organization (GCDO), and other local Kenyan community partners to address public health, education, and food and water insecurity. The first $10 of each entry fee covers race costs; the remainder of the fee is tax deductible. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
