Kentwood 4th of July 5K
This event is part of the City of Kentwood's Fourth of July celebration, held alongside a pancake breakfast, parade, carnival, live music, food trucks, and a fireworks display. The race starts and finishes next to Kentwood City Hall and Fire Station #1 and follows a course through local neighborhoods and along a paved trail.
Two event entries are offered:
- 3.1 Miles - 5K running race
- 5K - 5K Handcycle wheelchair event
Chip timing is used and a digital time clock is at the finish. Hundreds of spectators are typically along the route because the start/finish line is along the parade route, which takes place directly after the race finishes. All participants receive a finisher medal. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before June 13; registrations after that date may not have guaranteed shirt sizes.
For safety, baby joggers, roller blades, dogs, and bicycles are not allowed on the course. Organizers provide water stations along the route and advise participants to hydrate before the race. The entry fee for each listed event is $30.00 and registration opens and closes on the dates published by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
