Kentwood 4th of July 5K

The event takes place on July 4, 2026 in Kentwood as part of the city's Fourth of July celebration. It features two race events and a route that starts and finishes in front of Kentwood City Hall and Fire Station #1 on Walma Avenue.

Participants will run a course that travels through local neighborhoods and along a paved trail, including a portion of the East West Trail. The start and finish are located along the parade route, and there are typically many spectators along the course. The course will officially close at 9:30 a.m. for parade preparation; participants not finished by then are asked to use sidewalks for safety.

Race logistics include a digital time clock at the finish and chip timing. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before June 13; sizes cannot be guaranteed for later registrations. For safety, baby joggers, roller blades, dogs, and bicycles are not allowed on the course. Water stations will be available along the route.

Packet pickup is available early on July 2 and July 3 at the Kentwood Activities Center (355 48th St. SE). Onsite packet pickup and registration will be at the start-line near Kentwood City Hall at 4900 Breton St. SE on July 4 from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.
