Race Details
The Keadeen mountain run is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The main course covers a 10 km distance with 385 m of climb. A shorter course of approximately 4.2 km is also available. The event has an entry limit of 250 participants.
Course Description
The race starts near the Keadeen trailhead. From the start, the route follows a track to the summit cairn of Keadeen. Runners then go out along the ridge to Carrig peak and return to the Trig point. The course then descends via track to finish near the trailhead. The short course follows the main route until a stile at Slievereagh peak, where runners turn back to the finish.
Mandatory Kit
All runners must bring a specific set of mandatory gear, categorized as Level B - Standard. This includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or equivalent. The exact items to be carried during the race will be confirmed at registration based on conditions.
Registration and Leagues
Entry opens on Monday, June 8, 2026. Entry costs €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. The event is part of both the Southeast League and the Leinster League. An early start time of 7:00 PM is offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
