KDP Chocolate Milk Mile
The KDP Chocolate Milk Mile is a specialized running event held at the Kalamazoo Christian Highschool Track in Michigan. Now in its third year, the event combines athletic endurance with a unique consumption requirement. Participants of all ages are welcome to join the competition, which takes place on a standard athletic track.
The race consists of a total distance of 1 mile. To complete the event, every competitor follows a specific format:
- 1 mile (incorporating four 16-ounce servings of chocolate milk)
Participants are required to finish 16 ounces of chocolate milk before starting each quarter-mile segment of the race. By the conclusion of the event, each runner will have consumed a total of 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk and finished four laps of the track.
The organizers provide the chocolate milk for all participants to ensure an even playing field. Those who require dietary alternatives, such as lactose-free milk, must provide their own. The event is hosted by the Kalamazoo Distance Project, a registered non-profit organization. Proceeds from the registration fees are utilized to cover track rental and beverage costs, with remaining funds distributed to local youth running initiatives in Southwest Michigan.
The event operates with a strict time limit, featuring a 25-minute cutoff for completion from the start of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
