Event Overview
The Run to Climax is the 31st annual edition of this event. It takes place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026. The race supports the local elementary school, with profits funding materials and activities provided by the Climax-Scotts PTO.
Event Details
The event offers two distances:
- A 7K Run with a $25 early registration fee.
- A 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk with a $5 entry fee. Children 5 and under can participate for free.
All events start at the Climax United Methodist Church located at 133 E. Maple St. in Climax, Michigan. For safety due to other Memorial Day activities, the course is closed to runners after 9:00 a.m. Participants must finish by this time. Street parking is available for free.
Registration Information
Registration includes refreshments and a t-shirt. A t-shirt is guaranteed for those registered before May 10th. For the 7K, early registration is $25 until April 30, 2026, after which the price increases. Families of three or more registering together receive a $5 discount per person. Packet pickup is available on the day before the race or on race morning at the church.
Awards and Post-Race
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three finishers in various age categories. After the race, the Climax Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by community activities such as a classic car show and craft booths at the high school.
