Event details

The KC Pet Project 5K takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is a 5K run/walk held in Swope Park and finishes at the KC Pet Project shelter at 7077 Elmwood Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64132. Race features and policies

All registrants receive a race bib and a commemorative race medal. Participants may add a commemorative t-shirt for an additional $10. Pets are allowed for an additional $15 fee; dogs must be at least four months old, fully vaccinated, and in good health to participate. The finish area and after-race activities will take place in the shelter front parking lot and lobby. The after-race "Restival" includes photo opportunities, a chance to meet foster dogs, coffee and pastries from the Roasterie, and sponsor booths. Sponsors who contribute $2,500 or more can have a table or tent at the After-Race Festival.
