The event is staged from Celebration Hall in Ottawa, KS, and uses the Prairie Spirit Trail. Distances offered include:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon
- 1/2 Marathon
- 5 Miler
The course runs on crushed limestone with short asphalt sections through small towns. The longer events (100 Miler, 50 Miler, 50K) start at Celebration Hall with a short northbound out-and-back before heading south to event-specific turnarounds and returning to Ottawa. The 100K, Marathon, and Half Marathon start on the trail in Ottawa, proceed south to their turnarounds, and return to the finish in Ottawa.
Aid stations are placed approximately every five miles. Manned aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink and snack-type foods; unmanned stations provide water only. All manned aid stations offer drop bag access. Crew access to the course is described as straightforward. Pacers are allowed for roughly the final half of the longer events. Designated time limits and turnaround cutoffs apply to several distances.
Race headquarters and packet pick-up are at Celebration Hall, with packet pick-up available the evening before and the morning of the races; drop-bag deadlines are listed in the race booklet. Lodging options are within a short drive of Celebration Hall and primitive camping is available on the grass lot across from the hall.
All finishers within the event time limits receive a date and distance specific buckle or medal; overall male and female winners in each race receive additional awards. Complimentary race photos will be posted after the event. Runners who start but do not finish are listed as DNF; runners may not drop down in distance after starting. The event offers future race credit instead of refunds under a sliding scale, and credits are usable only by the original registrant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
