Event Overview
The Kahakuloa Half Marathon and Relays takes place on Maui, Hawaii. The event supports the renovation of the Kahakuloa Congregational Church.
Distances and Formats
The event features several race formats:
- Half marathon for individual runners.
- 2-person relay teams.
- 4-person relay teams.
Each relay leg varies in distance, with segments between 2.9 and 6.55 miles. Relay participants are responsible for their own transportation between the designated hand-off zones on the course. There is a participant limit of 200 for all formats combined.
Course and Route
The half marathon course begins at Fleming Beach in Kapalua and follows Kahekili Highway to the finish in the village of Kahakuloa. The route is described as having rolling hills and coastal views.
Schedule and Logistics
Packet pick-up is scheduled for the day before the race at the DT Fleming Beach parking lot. A shuttle bus with limited seating is available after the race to transport some runners back to the start line; reservations are recommended. The event includes medals, t-shirts, and a post-race breakfast with entertainment.
