The 5k and 9k are chip timed and include awards for top finishers. Awards include overall prizes for men and women, masters awards for age 40 and over, and age-group awards in five-year intervals from youth through 70 plus. Overall awards include gift cards and pint glasses; masters and age-group awards are also specified.
Participant items and distribution follow a deadline for guaranteed T-shirt sizes; runners who register after that deadline may receive a dog bandana as supplies permit. Virtual participants receive mailed packets and can submit a proof of time during the virtual window. Packet pickup is available at the race venue prior to the event.
The event supports K9s United. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit that organization, which provides equipment, training, quality of life support, and memorials for law enforcement K9 officers. In the interest of participating K9s, only service dogs are permitted on site and other pets are asked to remain at home. Parking is managed on arrival with volunteers and overflow lots.
