K Is for Kindness 5K and 1K Run
The K is for Kindness event is a charity run held at Columbia Park Marina in Richland, Washington. This third annual edition supports two local organizations: Spectrum Studios and the Empower Center for Growth. These nonprofits focus on providing opportunities, connection, and skill-building for young adults on the autism spectrum who have finished their formal schooling.
Participants can choose from two distinct events held at Shelter 4 along the Columbia Park Trail:
- 5K Fun Run
- 1K Fun Run/Walk
The Empower Center for Growth serves as a community hub where individuals can engage in creative and life-skills classes, including art, cooking, and technology. The event aims to foster a supportive and inclusive environment while raising funds for enrichment programs and personal development initiatives in the Tri-Cities area. Registration is open to the public until the day before the event. Volunteers and fundraisers also contribute to the event's goal of creating connections and building confidence for the individuals served by the beneficiary organizations.
