Candy Land Run
Candy Land Run is a multi-route trail event held at Candy Mountain in Richland, WA. The event raises funds for Mirror Ministries; proceeds support services for victims and survivors of sex trafficking.
All routes follow local trails and return to the Candy Mountain parking area. Participants receive a themed route map and can visit candy-themed stations that offer treats and photo opportunities with costumed Candy Land characters. Hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies are available. Service animals are allowed only if leashed.
Distances and formats include:
- 1.25 miles Gumdrop Loop, short family route not timed
- 3.5 miles Chocolate Route, trail route with chip timing option
- 10k Licorice Trail, chip-timed trail route
- Virtual option that allows remote participation and supporting the fundraiser
The 3.5 mile and 10k courses are chip-timed by Eastern Oregon Sports Timing. Ruck entries require carrying a dry weight of 20 to 30 pounds; packs are weighed before the event and ruck finishers receive a custom rucking patch. Each finisher receives a wooden finisher medal. Awards are given to overall male and female top finishers for the 3.5 mile and 10k and to age group winners in the 10k and 3.5 mile across listed age brackets. Parking is organized off-site with a shuttle to the mountain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
