Just Peachy 5K and 10K
Organized by the Grand Junction Sports Commission, Just Peachy is a community running event held in Palisade. The event offers a range of distances and a separate kids program.
- 10 km on a mapped course
- 5 km community run
- 1 km kids race and 100 meter dash
Kids do not need to register for the 1 km or 100 meter dash; parents or guardians sign a waiver before their child participates. Course maps are provided and packet pick-up is available at Grand Valley Primary Care in Palisade and at Veteran's Memorial Park.
Historically the race has been part of Palisade Peach Fest. The event moved to the Saturday before Peach Fest to reduce its impact on the town and to help limit demands on local police and fire services during the busy festival weekend.
Registration includes an event t-shirt, a finisher's medal, peaches, access to Peach Fest, and admission to the Palisade Lions Club pancake breakfast. The event has raised more than $10,000 for the Town of Palisade, with $7,386 allocated to the Police and Fire Departments and $2,620 to the Palisade Lions Club.
