Life in Color 5K
This is a 5K fundraiser for Grand Valley Oncology to support the Gas & Lodging program, which provides travel assistance and lodging for out of town patients seeking oncology care. The event is scheduled for 04/03/2027.
The course consists of three and a half loops around the perimeter of the Community Hospital and includes a mix of road, sidewalk and gravel path. Participants pass through showers of food-grade colored powder along the route.
Distances:
- Timed 5K - 3.1 Miles
- Untimed walk / fun run - 3.1 Miles
There are two participation options on the same course. Timed 5K participants receive a timing chip on their bib and are placed in the first wave. Fun run participants do not receive a bib and may complete the course at their own pace.
Packet pickup is at the Grand Valley Oncology downstairs lobby on Friday 04/02/2027. Regular registration fee is $35. Late and on-day registration is $45. Register by 03/06/2027 to guarantee a T-shirt.
Participants are advised to wear white clothing to make the colors stand out, and may use sunglasses or bandanas to protect eyes and mouth from powder. The powder generally washes out, but participants should expect possible staining. The race start location is the Adventure Academy parking lot; parking is available across the street, in the gravel lot west of Adventure Academy, and at Canyon View Medical Plaza.
