About the race
The Jurassic Express Trail Run in Swanage, Dorset, is a coastal trail running event that starts on the Swanage seafront and finishes beneath the ruins of Corfe Castle. The route passes notable coastal landmarks including Old Harry Rocks and Studland and follows firm chalk paths and sandy tracks.
There are three route options to choose from:
- 21k Half marathon distance
- 16.5k Medium route
- 10.5k Short route
After the finish at Corfe Castle, participants may take a private vintage steam train back to Swanage; train tickets cost £9 per person and can be purchased when booking. Spectators may also buy train tickets via the event shop or on the day.
The event provides chip timing, a high quality metal medal, a finisher's goodie and refreshing drink, a personalised certificate, first aid cover, on course refreshments, marshals and a fully signed route. The organiser operates a plastic free policy and asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle. The venue is Swanage Beachfront, Shore Road, Swanage BH19 1LB. Dogs are not allowed at the event.
