Jurassic Express Trail Run - Swanage
The Jurassic Express Trail Run starts on Swanage seafront and follows coastal trails to finish beneath the ruins of Corfe Castle. The route passes Old Harry Rocks and Studland and uses firm chalk paths and sandy tracks.
The event offers three route options:
- 21k Half Marathon, 473m elevation gain.
- 16.5k, 399m elevation gain.
- 10.5k, 273m elevation gain.
Entries include chip timing, a high-quality finisher medal, a finisher's goodie and refreshing drink, and a personalised certificate. The course is fully signed, marshalled, and supported with on-course refillable water stations and first aid cover. Participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle as the event operates plastic free. An event photographer will be present.
After finishing at Corfe Castle, participants can board a private vintage steam train back to Swanage; train tickets cost £9 and can be purchased when booking, via the event shop, or on the day. Spectators are welcome and may buy train tickets separately. Dogs are not permitted at the event.
Practical notes from the organiser: bibs are issued on arrival via a QR ticket, there is no on-site parking although public car parks are nearby, and a bag drop service operates for a fee. The event is open to participants aged 17 and over; 12 to 16 year olds may participate only when accompanied by a paying, participating adult.
