THE SEVENTH ANNUAL JUNETEENTH HALF MARATHON & 10K
The Juneteenth Half Marathon & 10K is an urban trail run held in Washington, DC. The seventh annual edition of this event utilizes the Civil War Defenses of Washington Trail, a route consisting of dirt paths and significant elevation changes. Participants can choose between two distinct distances that cover the entirety of this historic trail.
The available distances include:
- 13.4 Miles (Half Marathon): An out-and-back route featuring 1,375 feet of elevation gain.
- 6.2 Miles (10K): A point-to-point, northbound route from end to end with 467 feet of elevation gain.
The event is based at Fort Stanton Park, located at 1820 Erie Street SE. This location serves as the start and finish area for the half marathon, as well as the site for the post-run Juneteenth celebration. Following the conclusion of the races, a community BBQ is held at the park until mid-afternoon. Registration for both distances is open to the public with no associated fee.
