Juneteenth Atlanta 5K Freedom Run
The Juneteenth Atlanta 5K Freedom Run is part of the Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival, an annual community festival in Atlanta, Georgia organized by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The event is presented as a 5K Freedom Run with options to run, walk or roll and is described as supporting human rights, justice, equality and freedom for all people.
The run is scheduled during the multi-day Juneteenth weekend that includes a televised Freedom Day Parade, multiple music stages, vendors, family activities, youth programming and a health fair. The festival is family friendly and features community vendors, food, live music, cultural presentations, and recreational activities for children and adults.
Festival activities are concentrated at Piedmont Park and nearby park entrances and facilities are listed as wheelchair accessible. The broader weekend schedule also includes a car and bike show, sports and youth events, panel discussions, and cultural demonstrations, so the 5K takes place within a larger program of community and cultural events during the Juneteenth Atlanta celebrations.
