Juneteenth 5K - Family Rooted in Tradition
The Juneteenth 5K - Family Rooted in Tradition is an annual running race held in Killeen, Texas. Organized by the Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce, the event serves as the 6th Annual Cen-Tex Juneteenth Freedom Run. The race theme focuses on honoring generations and celebrating progress, resilience, and community.
This event is a chip-timed race and is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series, attracting participants from across the region. Registration includes a swag bag and a rally towel for all participants, while the first 200 registered runners receive an official event T-shirt.

The competition features awards for the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age groups, ranging from 0-11 to 70 and older.
Proceeds from the event support the Juneteenth Relief Grant, which provides financial assistance to Black-owned businesses in Central Texas. Following the race, a festival takes place featuring local vendors, food trucks, live performances, and family activities.
