AJ Howard Memorial 5K
The event is a memorial 5K held in Belton, Texas, with a course that runs through Liberty, Yetti Polk, and Harris Parks in central Belton. The event offers two participation options:
- 5K in person through the park routes.
- 5K Sleep in option for supporters who do not run.
The in person 5K is chip timed by Pro-Fit Race Timing and is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series; all in person finishers earn series points. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, with no duplicate awards. Age groups: 11&U, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Packet pickup is available under the Liberty Park pavilion and there is a second packet pickup the day before the race; on-site registration and packet pickup are available on race morning and on-site registration accepts credit card only. T shirts are guaranteed for entries received by the posted cutoff date; limited quantities may remain afterward. Strollers and pets are welcome.
All proceeds support an established scholarship fund that provides financial assistance to Belton area school band students for uniforms, instruments, private lessons, and related needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
