Event Overview
July the Turd is a running event located in the valley of Ironbridge, Shropshire. The race route takes participants through the surrounding countryside and nearby villages. The event features a multi-lap format centered around Little Dawley, with the start and finish situated at a local inn.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 8 miles
- 16 miles
- Marathon
The marathon distance is completed over three laps of the course, while the 16 miles option consists of two laps. The route surface is a combination of tracks and paths, and it is designed to be accessible with standard road shoes. This specific event does not follow the Railway Line course used in other regional races.
Facilities and Logistics
Parking is available on-site at the venue in Little Dawley. The base of operations is at The Unicorn Inn, where refreshments and snacks are available. A well-stocked checkpoint is provided on the course to support runners during their laps. All finishers receive a themed medal upon completion of their chosen distance.
