The event is a 5 mile road race through Huncote, Narborough and Enderby. It was established in 1993 and is run in memory of a Huncote Harrier club runner. The course is undulating and takes place on road and pavement surfaces.
The race is a closed Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL) fixture open only to LRRL club members. Transfers are permitted until 31 July 2026 and may only be made between members of LRRL clubs. Maximum entries are limited to 800. Entries open 5 July 2026 and close 31 July 2026; there will be no entries on the night. Race numbers are collected by club representatives on race night.
There is a cutoff time of 1 hour 15 minutes; runners who fall behind the sweep vehicle continue at their own risk without marshal support. Use of headphones, in-ear devices or bone conductors is prohibited except for medical reasons and will result in disqualification if used. A significant proportion of race profits are donated to local charities.
The race starts and finishes on Forest Road at the rear of the Next PLC Head Office in Enderby. Parking is available at Next PLC Head Office, Desford Road, Enderby LE19 4AT. The Derby Runner will have a stall at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
