Jordan's Run the Runway 5K Series: St. Thomas-Elgin
Jordan's Run the Runway is a fundraising event held at the St. Thomas Municipal Airport (YQS). This event offers participants the opportunity to run, walk, roll, or pole directly on the airport runway. The primary goal of the series is to support the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, with funds staying local to provide access to camps and community programs for families.
The event features a flat and fast certified course with several participation options:
- 5 km Runway Run/Walk/Roll: A chip-timed event on the airport runway.
- 1 km Kiddie Trot: A non-timed run for children with an approximate distance.
- 5 km Virtual: An option to complete the distance at any location for those unable to attend in person.
The gathering takes place rain or shine and includes a reception in an airport hangar with food and drinks. A silent auction and a presentation ceremony are also part of the evening program. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 5 km race.
Strollers are welcome on the course, making the event accessible to families. This race is one of four events in the series, with other locations including Chatham-Kent, London, and Sarnia-Lambton. Participants who complete multiple races in the series can earn specialized recognition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
