Joplin RoadRunners - Run With The Wind
The event takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Carthage or Sarcoxie, Missouri. It is a USATF-certified, point-to-point road race held over 25K. The race offers three event options: a solo 25K, a relay team 25K (teams of three), and a virtual 25K. Start and finish locations are Sarcoxie High School, 101 S. 17th Street, Sarcoxie, MO, and Carthage High School, 2600 S. River, Carthage, MO.
Course, format, awards and services
The race direction is decided the day before the event based on wind direction: from Sarcoxie to Carthage if wind is from the south or east, and from Carthage to Sarcoxie if wind is from the west or north. Relay teams consist of three runners and the relay legs are not evenly split:
- 8 miles
- 2 miles
- 5 miles
Meet and park at the finish line; transportation is provided to the starting line. Driving along with runners or relay teams and cheering is allowed. Aid and water stations are placed along the route. Drinks, snacks and port-a-potties are available at the two relay points. Hot soup, drinks and snacks are provided at the finish line. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by February 8. Free race photos are provided by JV Photography.
Awards include $100 cash to the overall male and female winners, gift certificates for top relay teams, trophies for top finishers, age-group awards and age-graded performance awards. Finishers receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
