Joplin Turkey Trot
The Joplin Turkey Trot is an annual running and walking event held on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Joplin, Missouri. The event marks its 15th year and has become a recurring holiday tradition for the local community. The race is held at 300 S. Main, with the course beginning and ending in front of the Schroeder Family Exploreum.
For safety and convenience, the area surrounding the start and finish lines is closed to vehicular traffic. The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 5K Run/Walk
The 5K course is officially certified. Participants in the 5K receive a themed event shirt and a finisher medal. The race utilizes chip timing to provide accurate results for all registered runners. On-site amenities include music provided by Resonation and commentary at the start and finish lines by BoCa Enterprises. After completing their respective distances, participants can access refreshments including donuts and coffee provided at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
