Joplin Turkey Trot
The Joplin Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving morning running event in Downtown Joplin presented by Freeman Health System. It offers a short family-oriented run and a certified 5K course that begins and ends in front of the Schroeder Family Exploreum, an area closed to traffic.

Participants in the 5K receive a soft event shirt and a finisher medal. The event uses chip timing and features start and finish announcing by BoCa Enterprises. Music for the event is provided by Resonation. Donuts and coffee are available for participants.

The course location in downtown Joplin places the start and finish near the Schroeder Family Exploreum, providing a traffic-controlled area for the run.
