Joltin' Joe 5K
Joltin' Joe 5K is a community running event in the Wheeler District of Oklahoma City that combines in person and virtual options and focuses on raising awareness about distracted driving and supporting related education initiatives.
The event program includes:
- 5K RUN/WALK on a USATF certified out and back course
- 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK untimed recreational route
- 5K VIRTUAL RUN complete the distance remotely and submit a result online
- PUSHCHAIR 5K RIDER registration for riders in the pushchair division
The Adult 5K is a timed race on a USATF certified flat out and back course. Runners start and finish near the Wheeler Ferris Wheel, go out 1.55 miles, turn around, and return to the finish area. The 1 mile fun run is untimed, flat, and uses a half mile out and back layout. Virtual 5K participants run the distance where they choose and receive a race bib and a custom finisher medal and may submit their time to the online virtual results listing. Pushchair rider registration is for riders only; those pushing riders should register in the regular Adult 5K runner option.
Registration opens August 15, 2026 and most in person and virtual registrations close September 15, 2026; the pushchair rider option has a later closing date. Fees and optional long sleeve tech shirt pricing are listed with each event. In person participants receive a race bib, a custom finisher medal featuring a spinning Ferris wheel, and a ticket to ride the Ferris Wheel.
