Jokers Wild Run For Rescues
The event is the second annual Jokers Wild Run For Rescues, a charity run/walk benefiting The Humane Society of Harris County. It is set in downtown Pine Mountain at Doggone Good Treasures, 102 Commerce Street, and uses the paved Man O' War Trail for the course. The trail is described as completely paved and very flat.
Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
On the 5K course participants collect a playing card at each kilometer and receive a finish card to complete and attach to their five cards; jokers are wild. Overall and age group awards are based on best poker hands. 5K age group awards are listed from 10 and under up to 70 and over in five-year age groups. Ribbons are provided to all finishers in the fun run/walk.
A clock will be available for participants who want to see their times, but recorded time does not determine finishing places. Postrace provisions include fluids and snacks. A virtual or phantom runner category is available; for an additional fee of $7 the event will mail a shirt to those who cannot attend in person.
