Jokers Wild Run For Rescues
The event is a poker-themed community run and walk in downtown Pine Mountain, Georgia, benefitting The Humane Society of Harris County. The course uses the paved Man O' War Trail and is described as very flat. Cards are distributed at each kilometer of the 5K and a finish card completes each participant's hand for award scoring.
Overall and age group awards for the 5K are determined by best poker hands. Age group awards range from 10 and under to 70 and over in five-year increments. Ribbons are provided to all finishers in the fun run/walk. A clock will display participant times, but recorded time does not determine finishing places.
Post-event refreshments include fluids and snacks. The event offers a virtual or phantom runner category for those who cannot attend in person. For an additional fee event organizers will mail a shirt to virtual participants.
