John P. McKeon Post Father's Day Race
John P. McKeon Post AMVETS #146 holds a scholarship road race and walk on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at John P. McKeon AMVETS Post #146, 4 Hilltop Street, Dorchester, MA 02124. The event includes running and walking options and a post-race cookout.
Distances offered:
- 3.2 miles road race and walk
- 5k run and 5k walk; family registration for up to four people
Awards for runners include the top three male and female finishers overall and in age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 30, 31 to 50, 51 to 65, and 66 and over. Walkers receive top three male and female awards with no age groups.
Entry fees are listed as $30 for pre-registered individual entries with a t-shirt included and $35 on race day with t-shirts not guaranteed. A family registration option is available for $100 for up to four members; t-shirts are not guaranteed with family registration. The first 250 pre-registrants are eligible for event t-shirts.
Parking is available in the lot near the starting line. Directions note use of Route 93 with exits 11B from the north and 11 from the south. Bib and shirt pickup is scheduled at the McKeon Post members room on Saturday, June 20th from 10 AM to 12 noon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
