The John Muir Way Ultra Marathon (50km)
The event is a 50 km ultra marathon held on 7 March 2026 along the John Muir Way in East Lothian. A team relay option is available as two legs of 25 km each. The route runs along coastal stretches, rural landscape and woodland trails and passes through towns and villages including Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick.
The course begins at Port Seton Promenade and finishes at Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar. Race registration and parking are located at Foxlake Adventures, where cars can be left for the duration of the event. Transport from Dunbar to the race start at Port Seton is provided as part of the entry fee.
The event material notes a mix of surfaces and sections near championship golf links. Results from previous years are published by the organisers. Volunteer roles support checkpoints, registration, water stations, start and finish areas, course set up and take down. Volunteers receive a race memento and a donation to their club or charitable group.
The organiser describes the route as an opportunity to cover long coastal and rural sections of East Lothian and frames the event as an entry into longer distance running. Practical details such as entry limits, pricing and route files are published by the organisers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
