ERN LP Run 2026 : event summary
The ERN LP Run is an annual timed track event organised by the Edinburgh Running Network. The format gives each entrant 33⅓ minutes to run as many laps of the track as they can. Entrants select the music for the event, creating a unique soundtrack for each LP Run.
The 13th LP Run takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Meadowmill Sports Centre, Tranent, EH33 1LZ. The event includes junior races with on-the-day registration and the following distances:
- 100 m junior race
- 400 m junior race
Laps are counted by collecting elastic bands from volunteers; a trundle wheel is used to measure any partial last lap while the runner rests. Prizes include awards for the furthest male and female runners and other spot prizes such as age closest to 33⅓ years.
The event has several community features. There is a kit swap where clean, good-condition items can be exchanged for donations, an option to buy the annual LP Run T-shirt, a baking competition with a Star Baker apron, and an edible biscuit medal for finishers. Tea, coffee and cakes are available after judging.
The organisers have supported charities in past years; for 2025 the chosen charity was Empty Kitchens Full Hearts and the event donated funds to support their meal provision. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
