LP Run 2026
LP Run 2026 is the Edinburgh Running Network's annual track event held at Meadowmill Sports Centre in Tranent on Saturday 26 September 2026. The event is based on an older Houston race and runs to a distinctive timed format: when the music starts, participants have 33⅓ minutes to run as many laps of the track as they can. Entrants select the music, creating a unique soundtrack for each edition.
All participants start and finish together, and lap counting is done by collecting elastic bands from volunteers; a trundle wheel measures any partial final lap while the runner rests. The event supports The Junction, an award-winning charity in North East Edinburgh, with all event profits and on-the-day donations directed to their activities. Other event features include an edible biscuit medal, a kit swap for clean, good quality clothing and shoes with remaining items donated or recycled, availability of the LP Run T-shirt, optional fancy dress with prizes, baking entries judged for a Star Baker apron, and tea, coffee and cakes after judging. Volunteering roles are available. Registration is open via EntryCentral and junior races have on-the-day entry.
