Event Overview
The John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum 5K Walk/Run takes place in Waterloo, Iowa, a city with a century-long history of tractor manufacturing. Race Categories
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5100 meters (5K) walk or run for community members and employees.
- The Spoker Sprint, a kids' race with distances ranging from 25 yards to 250 yards based on age groups.
The children's distances are organized into three categories. Participants aged 4 and under cover approximately 25 yards, while those aged 5-7 run 100 yards. Children between the ages of 8 and 10 complete a 250-yard course. Medals are awarded to participants following the conclusion of the 5K event.
Additional Activities
The event serves as a celebration of local industrial history at the site of the first John Deere tractor factory. Beyond the races, the venue offers indoor and outdoor exhibits, various games, and a tractor show. The museum remains open for visitors to view the permanent collections.
Community Support
A portion of the registration fees collected from participants is donated to the Northeast Iowa Foodbank.
