The Alive & Running Iowa 5K Run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Dunkerton. The course begins between Kwik Star and Dunkerton Gospel Hall and finishes at Dunkerton Gospel Hall. The event is organized as a non-timed 5K.
Registration pricing differs by date: pre-registration through June 6, 2026, is listed at $15 and includes a shirt for the non-timed event; registrations beginning June 7, 2026, are listed at $25 with no shirt guarantee. All children who are not in strollers must be registered. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Dunkerton High School Commons and on event day at Dunkerton Gospel Hall. Awards include first-place male and female winners receiving a gift certificate to The Runner's Flat. Because the event is not timed, there are no age-group awards. All race participants are eligible for door prizes.
A remembrance ceremony takes place the evening before at Dunkerton High School with registration and packet pickup, food available for purchase, a slideshow and a luminary display.
