About the race
Alive & Running Iowa includes a Friday Night Remembrance Ceremony and a non-timed 5K run/walk in Dunkerton, Iowa in June 2027.
The remembrance ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 18, 2027 at Dunkerton High School. A memory wall slideshow will play on repeat once started until the last person leaves. Organizers provide a memory wall form for adding a loved one. Past turnouts have received positive feedback.
The 5K run/walk takes place on Saturday, June 19, 2027. The starting line is located between Kwik Star and Dunkerton Gospel Hall, and the finish line is at Dunkerton Gospel Hall. Registration is open in two tiers: a pre-registration option with a shirt for a listed fee and a later registration option without a shirt guarantee at a higher fee; specific 2027 registration dates are to be announced. All children not in strollers must be registered. Dogs are not allowed.
Packet pickup is offered on Friday at the Dunkerton High School Commons and on Saturday at Dunkerton Gospel Hall. Awards for overall first place male and female consist of a gift certificate to The Runner's Flat. Because the event is not timed, there are no age-group awards. All race participants are eligible for door prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
