Joggin' for the Noggin : Atchison, KS
Joggin' for the Noggin is an annual community race held September 26, 2026, at 101 Commercial Street in Atchison. The start and finish are located in front of the old Riverhouse Restaurant, with a pancake feed and children's activities adjacent at the Atchison River Walk and Veterans Memorial Park. This is the 16th running of the event.
Distances and entry types:
- 5K - adult and child divisions. Fees $16 adult, $10 child.
- 2K - adult and child divisions. Fees $16 adult, $10 child.
- 5K virtual - all ages; run anywhere, self-report time; shirt and trinket mailed.
Registration notes: online registration closes September 23; registering before September 11 guarantees t-shirt size. On-site registration is available the morning of the event.
Awards and recognition are given for top finishers. Medals are awarded to the top two male and female 5K finishers in each age division (Under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; over 60) and to the top two male and female 2K finishers in each age division (Under 8; 8-14; 15 & over). Plaques are given to the top two overall 5K finishers, male and female.
The event is a fundraiser supporting a scholarship that benefits Atchison High School graduating senior women who plan to attend a Kansas university or college. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic standing, extracurricular involvement, and the qualities the scholarship honors.
