Event Overview
Joggin' for the Noggin is an annual fundraising race event taking place in Atchison, Kansas. The event benefits the Mary Lea Johanning Scholarship, which supports Atchison High School graduating senior women attending a Kansas university or college. The 2026 edition marks the 16th annual occurrence.
Event Details
The event offers several race options:
- 5K Run/Walk: for adults and for children (15 & under).
- 2K Run/Walk: for adults and for children (15 & under).
- Virtual 5K: open to all ages.
Registration opens on July 1, 2026. Participants can register on the morning of the event. A t-shirt is included with registration, with size guaranteed for those who register before September 11th.
The start and finish line is in front of the Riverhouse Restaurant at 101 Commercial Street. Post-race activities include a pancake feed, cupcakes, and children's activities adjacent to the finish area at the Atchison River Walk/Veterans Memorial Park.
Awards
An awards ceremony is held after the races. Medals are awarded to the top two male and female finishers in various age divisions for both the 5K and 2K events. Plaques are given to the top two overall male and female finishers of the 5K.
